Securus Technologies, Inc. Announces a Contract to Install an Advanced Inmate Phone System To Help Fight Crime and Increase Security

Securus Technologies, Inc. a leading provider of inmate communication services and innovative offender and case management software design, today announced it signed an agreement on February 4, 2009 with the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office in Sutter County, California to install, operate, and maintain a sophisticated call management network that will provide the Sheriff’s office with advanced investigative capabilities to monitor inmate calling activities.
Valued at approximately $280,000, the 4 year contract provides some unique investigative capabilities. The system is due to be installed the week of May 4, 2009 for the Sutter County Jail that houses 240 inmates.
The County chose Securus because of its superior platform and its world-class field support.
- Increased Crime Fighting Capabilities - The system’s anywhere, anytime access provides Sutter County investigators with vital investigative tools from anywhere in the field. This new capability was a major requirement of the staff to assure they maintained an advantage over the increased sophistication of today’s criminal;
- Increased Control - Facility personnel will now have the ability to control the entire system from any location. This remote accessibility will provide the staff with not only greater control, but also increased security;
- Single Point Access - The old system required personnel to maneuver through multiple access points to perform their duties. The new systems single-point command center eliminates this time consuming requirement, freeing up officers to perform duties that will increase the security for the staff as well as the inmate population
