Securus Technologies, Inc. Announced a Contract to Upgrade the Eureka County Sheriff’s Office Call Management System

Securus Technologies, Inc. a leading provider of inmate communication services and innovative offender and case management software design, today announced it signed an agreement on January 19, 2009 with the Eureka County Sheriff’s Office to install, operate, and maintain a sophisticated call management network that will provide the Sheriff’s office with advanced investigative capabilities to monitor inmate calling activities. The new system will provide a safer community and allow investigators to solve more crimes.

Scheduled to be installed at the end of March, the 3-year contract provides some unique features that will increase the efficiency of the jail and the investigative capabilities of Eureka’s investigators.

System Highlights:

  • Increased Crime Fighting Capabilities - The systems anywhere, anytime access provides Eureka County investigators with vital investigative tools from anywhere in the field. This new capability was a major requirement of the staff to assure they maintained an advantage over the increased sophistication of today’s criminal;
  • Increased Control - Facility personnel will now have the ability to control the entire system from any location. This remote accessibility will provide the staff with not only greater control but also increased security;
  • Single Point Access - The old system required personnel to maneuver through multiple access points to perform their duties. The new systems single-point command center eliminates this time consuming requirement, freeing up officers to perform duties that will increase the security for the staff as well as the inmate population;
  • Local Disaster Recovery – The new centralized platform maintains the jails data in secure, redundant, off-site data centers. Local disasters will no longer be a threat to the system.

Understanding their needs and challenges helped us deliver a system that met all of their technology, security and financial needs. Eureka wanted a system that satisfies all of these needs. Eureka Sheriff’s Department officials spoke to many of the other state counties about the Securus system, a fact that was made easier by the fact that Securus serves every county in NV but three. Discussions centered on the systems capabilities, customer support and scalability. In each case, the Securus system scored high marks.
