Securus Technologies Announces Investment of $175 Million in New Technologies and Products for Corrections

DALLAS, TX April 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Securus Technologies, a leading provider of inmate communications services, investigative technologies, corrections/law enforcement/ emergency information technology services, interactive voice response systems, and active global positioning systems (GPS) based offender monitoring devices announced today that is has invested $175 million in new technologies, products, and patents for the corrections sector over the last two years.

"We invested heavily in data analytics (DirectHit acquisition), video visitation (Primonics acquisition), integrated voice response systems (Telerus acquisition), jail management/IT platforms (Archonix acquisition), wireless tracking/location based services (technology purchase), mobile marketing products (patent purchase) that allow for faster account funding, and GPS tracking of parolees (Satellite Tracking of People also known as STOP acquisition). Over the last five (5) years – we invested another $100 million in capital in our core packet switched centralized platform. This platform is called SCP or Secure Calling Platform, and we have grown that to over 650 products and services for over 1,800 facilities (jails and prisons). SCP represents the largest proprietary platform of its type in the world – serving inmates, friends and family, and corrections officials, and processing approximately 400 million calls per year."
