Securus Completes Record Volumes for both Calls and Video Visitation Sessions on Christmas Day
Press Release Dec 29, 2014
Securus completed record calling volumes – both Audio and Video Visitations through an integrated state-of-the-art voice over internet protocol Secure Call Platform (SCP) for Christmas Day.
DALLAS, TX December 29th, 2014/PRNewswire/ -- Securus Technologies, a leading provider of civil and criminal justice technology solutions for public safety, investigation, corrections and monitoring, announced today that it achieved a new milestone for completed calls and video visitation sessions on Christmas Day.
Throughout Christmas Day, Securus completed the most calls in history, connecting inmates to their family and friends topping over 8.4 million minutes. This represented an increase of 11% over last year. These call volume improvements are attributed to more Corrections agencies choosing Securus Technologies, more calling programs that increase the convenience of completing calls and a highly reliable calling platform created by our investment of over $300 million in our calling platform and in our products. “This is possible with the largest inmate calling platform in the world versus carriers who use older premise-based platforms that are less reliable and less efficient” said David Kunde, Vice President of Network Operations for Securus.
Securus Technologies set other numerous records including connecting the most video visitation sessions in a day and most completed calls at a given time. “Next to security, this is the most important thing we do. Connecting inmates to those most important to them,” said Kunde. “We have come to expect a very high level of service but it’s not always the case in Corrections. With Securus, we’re trying to modernize the incarceration experience and connect everyone to the highest quality of service, while keeping all of us safe.”
